About the Job We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Print Production Specialist
to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the print production process, from concept to workflow to delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of printing technologies, materials, and processes, as well as excellent project management and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Oversee the entire print production workflow, including estimates, graphic design, page layout, file preparation, proofing, finishing services, and final delivery.
Create materials including, but not limited to business cards, booklets, banners, newsletters, invites, flyers, signs, posters, social media, and promotional items.
Review and preflight digital files for print readiness, troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues.
Collaborate with center management (Owner, Creative Partner) and customers to ensure print projects meet design intent, quality standards, and deadlines.
General understanding of vertical channels and B2B/C2C marketing, and how this translates to good graphic design.
Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure job accuracy, material quality, and proper finishing.
Source and manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing and ensuring competitive bids.
Manage needed printer maintenance including weekly color calibration.
Oversee inventory of paper/print materials and manage fulfillment as needed.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of print samples and specifications.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging printing technologies, materials, sustainable practices, and trends.
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of commercial printing processes, including digital, wide format, promotional and specialty printing.
2-4 years of experience in print production, project management, or a similar role.
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts, Print Production, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, and other relevant design software.
Knowledge of EFI Fiery and EFI Fiery Impose preferred
Strong understanding of color management, paper stocks, file formats, and pre-press requirements.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a variety of personalities
Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
Positive, friendly, dependable, collaborative attitude.
Able to prioritize and cultivate customer relationships.
Other
Comfortable working with technology (PC/Mac, Printers, Google Suite, Trello, and other digital tools and management systems) and learning new systems/platforms.
Growth mindset and interest in career development: mentoring and training available to help employees grow their technical skills and advance into management and leadership roles (production manager, store manager, and multi-unit general manager).
Able to pitch in with overall store operations, including running POS and customer transactions.
Adhere to company and brand policies including wearing uniforms and nametags.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift packages up to 50 lbs as needed.
Able to help develop and support community initiatives.
Actively seek new business and potential customers (bonus commission opportunities).
