- Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656‑bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, the Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.
Responsibilities
- Ensure specimens are obtained in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
- Follow proper protocols for specimen packaging and specimen transport.
- Responsible for specimen accessioning as assigned.
- Demonstrate proper infection control practices and patient identification.
- Perform proper drug screen collection and processing as assigned.
- Provide phlebotomy services in a professional and patient‑centered manner.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.
- Certification from a nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies include:
- National HealthCareer Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (NHA)
- National HealthCareer Association – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA CCMA)
- American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician: PBT (ASCP)
- American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician: RPT (AMT)
- National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician: NCPT (NCCT)
- American Certification Agency – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (ACA)
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Experience working in the inpatient clinical setting.
