Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656‑bed hospital that includes the Alexander Burn Center, the Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.

Responsibilities

The Phlebotomist performs specimen collection techniques including venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection, and specimen culture collection.

  • Ensure specimens are obtained in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
  • Follow proper protocols for specimen packaging and transport.
  • Accession specimens as assigned.
  • Demonstrate proper infection control practices, patient identification, and prompt specimen transport.
  • Perform drug screen collection and processing as assigned.
  • Provide phlebotomy services in a professional and patient‑centered manner.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized agency, such as:
    • NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
    • NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
    • ASCP Phlebotomy Technician (PBT)
    • AMT Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT)
    • NCCT National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT)
    • ACA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Experience working in an inpatient clinical setting.
