Monogram Foods is hiring: Technician, Waste Water Treatment (2nd Shift) in Brist

Position Summary

Operator position that oversees wastewater.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with city, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
• Work with Engineers, vendors, and contractors on projects.
• Operate and monitor all wastewater pretreatment plant equipment and make necessary adjustments.
• Take periodic samples and perform and record results of laboratory tests.
• Maintain the efficiency of plant and laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance.
• Read and record meter and gauge readings.
• Maintain plant records, including operation logs, daily diaries, computer data entry, and chemical inventories.
• Collect and submit required effluent samples to a certified laboratory in accordance with the Wastewater Discharge Permit.
• Ensure timely reporting to local authorities and facility management if an upset or exceedance occurs.
• Perform ground maintenance and housekeeping duties to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient workplace.
• Must be able to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Three to five years experience working with municipal and/or industrial wastewater.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Class A Wastewater Operator License with the State of Indiana.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Operator License.
• Complete Lock Out Tag Out certification.
• Ability to visualize a project from start to finish.
• Excellent math and basic algebra skills.
• Knowledge of sampling methods and chemical tests used in treatment plant control.
• Ability to operate and maintain pumps, motors, and equipment.
• Proficiency in reading meters, gauges, and recording instruments.
• Ability to maintain operating records and perform mathematical computations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in using common hand tools.
• Work independently and follow oral and written instructions.
• Operate a motor vehicle.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Regularly climb stairs and ladders.
• Able to work in wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat.
