Job Description
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, including managing a team of accounting professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in a public accounting firm at the beginning of their career and hold a CPA designation or be a CPA candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 2 or more accounting professionals, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Coordinate and assist with the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or active CPA candidate.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience managing a team of 2 or more accounting professionals.
- Experience working in public accounting firm at the beginning of your career.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competitive salary range: $110,000 to $130,000
