Job Summary

The Senior Analyst – Financial Reporting & Regulatory Compliance is responsible for the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial data to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with US GAAP, FERC, and other regulatory standards. This role supports the organization’s financial and regulatory objectives through timely reporting, internal controls adherence, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Develop financial and regulatory reports including income statement, balance sheet, and supporting schedules in compliance with US GAAP and FERC standards.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Perform technical accounting research and analysis on complex accounting issues and provide recommendations to management.
  • Ensure consistent application and compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings, proceedings, evidence packages, and responses to interrogatories.
  • Participate in system implementations, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy within financial reporting processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments including Legal, Operations, and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in managing sensitive financial information.

Scope & Impact

  • Ensures accuracy and integrity of company financial records and regulatory disclosures.
  • Supports timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting for *** Inc. and its subsidiaries.
  • Contributes to process improvement and operational efficiency within GDS Finance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting.
  • Experience in public accounting, technical accounting, or accounting for regulated utilities is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP; knowledge of FERC accounting is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle Cloud, HFM) is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines, including during peak reporting periods.
