We are working with a client that is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their team. This role is 100% onsite in the Medley, FL area.
This role is ideal for someone with strong reconciliation skills, proficiency in Excel, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. You’ll play a key role in preparing reconciliations, supporting general ledger accuracy, and assisting with various accounting functions that ensure financial data integrity.
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for preparing reconciliations, substantiating general ledger balances, processing Accounts Payable invoices, and supporting financial reporting requirements. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to analyze and consolidate data across multiple accounts.
- Prepare and complete monthly reconciliations for all company bank accounts and assigned general ledger accounts.
- Identify and report open or unreconciled items, providing detailed explanations and supporting documentation.
- Review unusual reconciliation items with the Corporate Accounting Manager to ensure accuracy and resolution.
- Maintain thorough documentation of reports, processes, and procedures used in reconciliation and balancing activities.
- Assist with reconciling accounts within Microsoft D365 and ensure data integrity.
- Support quarterly reconciliation reviews and provide consolidated reporting for management.
- Participate in annual physical inventory of equipment, reconcile results against system records, and prepare discrepancy reports.
- Review and follow up on outstanding vendor invoices, ensuring timely receipt and processing.
- Provide cross-training support and coverage for Accounts Payable and Administrative Assistant functions when needed.
- Undertake special projects and assignments as directed by management while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Accounting Clerk Qualifications:
- Two years of accounting education and related work experience preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and processes.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft D365 preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
