Job Summary

As a Unit Secretary you will create a welcoming, organized space where patients and families feel valued and informed. In this role you will use clear, compassionate communication and attention to detail to keep the unit running smoothly and caring for others like family—one shift at a time.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported.
• Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information.
• Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected.
• Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well‑stocked to promote safety and comfort.
• Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Administrative skills preferred.

HCA Florida Westside Hospital is a 250‑bed medical center and healthcare complex founded in 1974. Our facility offers minimally invasive spine and colorectal surgery and is a teaching facility with Graduate Medical Education programs in podiatry, surgery, and internal medicine.
