The Ranger Group, a leading US engineering solutions provider to companies across the aerospace & defense, medical device, electronics and industrial manufacturing industries, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Direct Hire role with a client of ours in Plano, TX. The work will be completed 100% onsite.
Summary
Seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment. This role splits time between the office and the shop floor—approximately 50% each. The ideal candidate has strong experience in sheet metal fabrication, product layout, and process improvement, with the ability to move seamlessly between design collaboration and floor‑level problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and optimize layouts for sheet metal components and assemblies.
- Support the full product lifecycle—from prototype through production and ongoing product support.
- Lead small‑scale capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process and design issues.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide technical guidance on machine capabilities, tooling, and equipment utilization.
- Drive process improvements (PIP) to increase efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Serve as a liaison between engineering, production, and quality teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a sheet metal or fabricated product environment.
- Proven ability to work both at the desk (CAD/design collaboration, layouts, documentation) and on the floor (troubleshooting, testing, process optimization).
- Experience managing small capital improvement projects.
- Proficient with CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
- Strong project management, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Location: Plano, TX | Salary: $61,520.00–$89,205.00
