Job Description L3Harris in Nashua, NH currently has an opening for a FPGA Digital Hardware Engineer. In this role, you will support the development of Field Programmable Gate Array devices for data acquisition and telemetry products. Responsibilities will include generation of specifications, component selection, FPGA coding, simulation, and analyses, support of PWB layout, and integration & verification testing.
Relocation assistance may be provided to qualified applicants.
Essential Functions
Generate design concepts and architectures to satisfy performance requirements
Design sub-systems and modules, with emphasis on digital circuits and FPGA code, coordinating integration with other Engineering disciplines
Ensure the FPGA simulations verify performance, then integrate and test the FPGA on the circuit card assembly
Support the full life cycle development and integration of VHDL into different families of FPGAs
Experience coding in VHDL and modeling algorithms, simulating, and integrating multiple FPGA-based modules
Support the bench-level system integration with hardware, software, and other FPGA designs
Support proposal efforts and early stages of the program to define detailed system requirements
Support qualification and production test in the event of test failures
Support customer with use and troubleshooting of fielded products
Candidate must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
Qualifications
Bachelors of Science Degree in electrical/computer engineering and 4+ years of professional experience, OR a Masters in electrical/computer engineering and 2+ years of professional experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
2+ years experience using VHDL
Professional experience with and understanding of AMD Xilinx FPGA architectures
Professional experience with SoC (RFSOC, Kintex UltraScale/UltraScale+, Virtex UltraScale/UltraScale+, Zynq UltraScale+)
Professional experience with Vivado
Preferred Additional Skills
Experience with AXI streaming and control buses
Experience with basic Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced work environment and to complete design/project goals with minimal oversight and direction
Experience interfacing with ADCs and DACs and with processing of IQ data
Ability to write TCL and Python scripts to support build scripting
Ability to use Git for configuration management
Ability to implement DSP filters, FFTs, and resampling modules in FPGAs
