Overview We are seeking a hands‑on, technically strong Senior Software Engineer to participate in the design and development of high‑performance, mission‑critical Commercial Client Life Cycle Management (CLM) systems with a focus on client onboarding. This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, AZ, and TX. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with other Software Engineers, Product Managers, Analysts, Testers, and cross‑functional global teams in a fast‑paced and ever‑changing environment to define and implement solutions for existing and new client onboarding applications, and provide ongoing support to the systems developed. You will design and develop scalable and efficient software tools that support all aspects of client‑facing Commercial Client Lifecycle Management and Onboarding systems.
Responsibilities The ideal candidate should have the necessary skills and experience to provide technical guidance, estimation of efforts, and decision‑making on optimal technology solutions to meet business needs. You must navigate gray/unknowns, communicate effectively with vendors, IT management, individual contributors, and business stakeholders, and deliver requests at a rapid pace while maintaining a strategic view of technical architecture.
Design and develop technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Participate in the architecture, design, and implementation of client onboarding application functionality, including third‑party (Vendor Packaged and/or SaaS) integrations.
Drive department best practices, guidelines implementation and adherence to standards.
Ensure elegant, maintainable, well‑documented, and secure code.
Refactor code to improve quality and performance.
Drive technical designs to consensus and approval by partnering with the Architecture Review Team.
Design and develop enterprise solutions for specific business needs that provide reusable frameworks, interfaces, and services.
Perform impact analysis of proposed changes on existing architecture, capabilities, system priorities, and technology solutions.
Identify cost/benefit implications of proposed solutions (e.g., people, processes, technology, strategy, finance).
Create and maintain application architecture and related assets; act as the go‑to person for architecture discussions.
Supervise release processes (including after‑hours/weekend work if required).
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in software application development and maintenance.
Preferred Skills
Technical leadership experience for medium to large‑sized enterprise projects.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot production issues.
Strong proficiency in design and development of distributed systems.
Experience with Java/J2EE, RESTful web services, Node, React.
Experience with distributed systems and micro‑services architecture.
Preferred experience on public API development and API gateway platforms such as APiGEE.
Experience with messaging/middleware technologies such as Kafka and MQ.
Strong proficiency in RDBMS architecture and performance tuning (Oracle, MS‑SQL, SQL Server, NoSQL).
Experience configuring and troubleshooting AWS services, least‑privilege permissions, and infrastructure scripting (Terraform, etc.).
Agile project experience with full knowledge of day‑to‑day Agile routines.
Demonstrated experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration & Delivery).
Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Docker, and Jenkins.
Nice to Have
Working knowledge of AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Docker, OpenShift.
Experience with client and internal‑facing solutions using products like Fenergo (FenX) or similar KYC/Onboarding platforms.
Banking/Payments industry knowledge with experience delivering large modernization/transformative efforts.
