Test Engineering provides technical expertise to numerous manufacturing and development programs within RTX. Our work involves electronic hardware for close‑in weapons systems. The manufacturing operations are located in Louisville, KY.

Primary responsibilities include supporting test and troubleshooting of complex weapon systems such as RF IF Analog or Digital hardware sub‑assemblies. This position requires close cooperation with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines including Product Design, Test Development and Manufacturing Engineering in a PRISM/SAP based manufacturing environment. Desired candidate will possess superb communication skills and be capable of working in a dynamic team environment. Extensive job training is provided.

What You Will Do

Interpret test requirements, develop and maintain test procedures, and document test practices.

Analyze data to drive issues to root cause.

Generate Change Requests (CRs) on technical issues relating to the production test process.

Support and/or manage test development projects.

Develop and execute improvement projects to increase first‑pass yield.

Engage with Program Quality and Design teams to solve issues impacting production.

Ensure hardware requirements are met and processes are followed.

Assist production test engineers and manufacturing operators in the testing & troubleshooting of production hardware.

Support/own functional test platforms.

Be able to travel as required.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and minimum years of relevant experience.

Experience with technical writing.

Experience with MRP systems.

U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related engineering degree.

Master’s in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, OneNote).

RF IF Analog or Digital troubleshooting skills.

LabVIEW / LabWindows.

Test equipment knowledge/familiarity with Tektronix and Keysight instruments.

Use of oscilloscopes or spectrum analyzers for testing / troubleshooting.

A continuous improvement mindset to enhance manufacturing test methods through process modernization.

Demonstrated success working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Active SECRET clearance.

The salary range for this role is $101,000 – $203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is U.S.-based. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
