Job Details We are looking for an experienced full‑time Admissions Director (Mon‑Fri, 8:30 – 5:00 pm).
Key Qualification
Knowledge of Skilled Nursing Admission practices, processes, and policies.
Administrative Functions
Assess inquiries and respond to referrers immediately. Ensure an immediate response to phone, fax, and walk‑in inquiries and referrals.
Facilitate admission decision and ensure a positive admission experience for customers and families.
Meet census goals by working with the center’s interdisciplinary team and Network entities to coordinate customer flow into and through the nursing center.
Coordinate tour, application, and sales process with customers, families, and referrers, either personally or with appropriate backup systems.
Ensure proper completion, signing, and distribution of paperwork.
Meet with family and customers on the day of admission and ensure appropriate preparation of room and introduction to nursing staff on the unit.
Communicate admission criteria to referral sources, customers, and families.
Ensure comprehensive gathering and documentation of customer data which will enhance appropriate placement within the Network.
Maintain thorough knowledge of medical, social and financial information relating to elder care.
Conduct follow‑up on all inquiries which have not yet been converted to admissions.
Work with Administrator and appropriate staff to ensure consistent, effective admissions, discharge, and transfer meetings.
Maintain statistics indicating customer flow, pending and lost inquiries, denials, hospital discharges, and marketing activity; submit to corporate office.
Nurture referral relationships with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners as valued customers to maximize referrals and facilitate admissions.
Develop and maintain referral base.
Maintain an accurate record of available beds/census.
Admit, transfer, and discharge residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain current records of all residents admitted/discharged by this facility in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public.
Must be calm and level‑headed in emergencies.
Must be well‑groomed and possess ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing admission practices.
Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Be knowledgeable in the use of computers, data input and output, etc.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning at.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
