Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Senior Director, Divestitures to join our Innovative Medicine Business Development team. This role will be based in one of our New Jersey locations (New Brunswick, Raritan, Titusville).

The Senior Director, Divestitures, is a key member of the J&J Innovative Medicine Business Development team, leading the established products divestiture team, including direct management for a team of two direct reports. This role leads end-to-end process and strategy for critical divestitures, driving opportunities from identification, through partner negotiations, and culminating in transition of programs to external parties. The Senior Director, Divestitures drives our divestiture strategy, leveraging a wide range of cross functional resources to enable a productive and succession transaction process. Importantly, this role will partner closely with partners including Established Products, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Commercial, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Finance, Pharmacovigilance and others. The Senior Director Divestitures will report directly to the Vice President of Acquisitions & Divestitures.

Key Responsibilities

Champion, lead, and develop strategies/tactics for timely divestitures of Established Products brands/assets. This includes partnering closely with global & regional colleagues that support these brands, as well as our critical functional partners (i.e. finance, legal, supply chain, etc).

Function with high degree of autonomy in all critical aspects of divestiture execution and negotiation. This includes:

Create and maintain robust portfolio of buyer pools, leveraging various technology tools and applications.

Lead all critical partner interactions, including initial partner outreach, deal negotiations, all key elements of due diligence , integration planning, and ultimately deal execution.

Development of key divestiture documents/materials, including confidential information memorandums, deal pitch presentations, and internal documents (i.e. Appropriations requests)

Key tactical responsibilities include managing virtual data rooms, organization of clean sheeting processes, identifying and resolving key risks/challenges to deal execution, etc.

Leadership of regular senior leadership updates and team meetings, to include:

Lead monthly updates with externalization business development team

Regular participation and leadership of cross functional divestiture council meetings

Leadership, guidance, and regular updates to management on deal progress

Serve as a single point of contact for functional areas on global and regional deals. This will include establishing key partnerships across the businesses, and in the deal teams to deliver on objectives

Function as resident expert on key externalization processes. This includes providing insights and guidance to the broader Innovative Medicine Business Development team for externalizations beyond direct scope of responsibility

Development of robust and compelling presentation materials for senior leadership, turning detailed analytics into thorough, comprehensive divestiture recommendations; strong communication skills will be critical to success in this capacity

Currently, this role is directly responsible for leading a team of two direct reports

Qualifications

BA/BS minimum requirement; MBA preferred but not required

Minimum of10 years of relevant business experience required

Healthcare or Pharmaceutical experience is required

Experience in M&A and/or licensing is preferred

Experience supporting divestitures preferred

Experience with business analytics preferred

Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills are required.

Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in cross-functional teams

Experience in communicating and influencing a broad variety of business leaders, both internally and externally and with varying levels from functional personnel to senior leaders

Ability to manage complexity within matrix management is required.

The anticipated base salary for this role: $173,000-$299,000
