Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for verifying routine product conformance to design requirements and providing objective evidence of results. You will perform auditing, surveillance, and monitoring tasks, identify and document discrepancies, and manage nonconforming items. Your role will involve conducting product reviews with customers during product or process verification and initiating corrective action requests for significant non-conformances.

Responsibilities

Conduct dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels.

Perform visual inspections for obvious defects.

Review and disposition certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and company quality standards.

Communicate with vendors as needed and manage the disposition and control of non-conforming products.

Review and approve First Articles from suppliers.

Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity and assist with RCCA activities pertaining to inspection.

Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits.

Essential Skills

2-4 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of formal education and on-the-job training.

Proficiency in using calipers, ring/pin gages, comparators, and Smart scope.

Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection.

Fluent in English, with excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Excel.

Required to pass documented color and near vision exam.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous aerospace experience is a plus.

Knowledge of AS9100 requirements is highly preferred.

Understanding of Six Sigma and team concepts.

Preferred advanced GD&T skills – Optical Comparator, Layout, Vision Scope Systems.

Work Environment

The work environment is an indoor, air-conditioned, and very clean setting. The day shift runs from either 6 AM – 2:30 PM or 7 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with availability needed until 4 PM. Steel-toed shoes and pants are required attire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
