Overview
Body MRI Radiologist. The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and the No. 2 hospital in Texas by U.S. News and World Report, is seeking a fellowship-trained radiologist to join the Body Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) division and work in a collegial and collaborative setting. Radiologists in the Body MR Division interpret the full range of abdominopelvic MRI examinations as well as CT, Ultrasound, radiographs, and fluoroscopy at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Clements University Hospital, Zale Lipshy Pavilion, and affiliated outpatient clinics. Faculty members work with residents, fellows, and medical students in one of the largest radiology training programs in the U.S. Interested faculty members have the opportunity to train in and perform MR-guided prostate biopsies and ablations as well as CT and US-guided procedures. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Responsibilities
Interpret the full range of abdominopelvic MRI examinations as well as CT, Ultrasound, radiographs, and fluoroscopy at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Clements University Hospital, Zale Lipshy Pavilion, and affiliated outpatient clinics. Collaborate with residents, fellows, and medical students in a large radiology training program. Train in and perform MR-guided prostate biopsies and ablations as well as CT and US-guided procedures. Contribute to the academic mission with teaching and clinical duties; appointment rank will be commensurate with accomplishments and experience. Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent Fellowship training Board certification/eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology with an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas Facilities & Equipment
Seven current Body MRI faculty members Four dedicated Body MRI fellows annually Central reading rooms at Parkland Hospital and Clements University Hospital, and freestanding reading stations located throughout the hospital systems Remote conferencing capabilities for participation in virtual resident read-out sessions, lectures, and multidisciplinary conferences Nineteen clinical MRI magnets and actively growing PET/MRI under installation – expected completion March 2022 MR-guided prostate biopsy and Transurethral Ultrasound Ablation (TULSA) capability Focus on radiologist well-being and efficiency; flexible work hours may be available upon request Research Collaboration
