How You’ll Contribute Lead daily operations, technical performance, and team management for live productions, media recording, and audiovisual services within a secure federal broadcast and conferencing environment. Ensure successful high‑quality production delivery, system readiness, staff development, and compliance with operational and security requirements. Provide leadership, training, project management, and function as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues, production planning, and stakeholder communication, while driving workflow improvements.
What You’ll Do
Supervise, schedule, and coordinate technical staff for AV and broadcast operations, including task assignment, performance reviews, training recommendations, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative, safety‑focused culture.
Oversee and direct setup, execution, and operations for live, recorded, virtual, and hybrid productions, including multi‑camera switching, audio mixing, lighting, graphics, and teleprompter functions.
Monitor system performance and respond to issues to maintain quality, signal integrity, redundancy, and security; manage setup, operation, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and storage of broadcast‑quality AV systems; lead troubleshooting and coordinate repairs and upgrades with engineering.
Serve as primary contact for clients and stakeholders, communicate technical requirements and production plans, attend planning meetings, and deliver high‑quality customer service.
Prepare schedules, ensure shift coverage, and submit weekly and monthly reports on events, issues, system status, and team performance.
Ensure proper archiving and maintenance of all video and audio recordings; participate in program reviews.
Identify workflow improvements, recommend new tools or methods, and enforce compliance with standard procedures, government, and industry standards.
Work Schedule & Requirements
Monday–Friday, flexible shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
On‑call coverage for evenings, weekends, holidays
Fully on‑site at a secure federal facility in the Washington D.C. area.
What You’ll Bring Education & Certifications High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Skills/Qualifications
Must have a minimum of active interim security clearance and ability to obtain/maintain active TS/SCI clearance.
Minimum 7 years in AV operations, studio production, or broadcast systems, with 3 years in a supervisory or senior technical role.
Hands‑on experience with conference rooms, studio lighting, audio consoles, video switching, signal routing, graphics, teleprompters, and virtual meeting platforms.
Strong understanding of broadcast signal flow, redundancy, and quality control.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
Government or large‑scale broadcast experience.
Relevant technical certifications preferred (CTS, Dante, Ross XPression, Crestron/AMX).
Knowledge of industry standards (SMPTE, AES, ITU) and secure AV operations.
