Piper Companies is looking for a
Telephony Engineer - Secret Clearance
to join a leading telecommunications company to support telephony infrastructure and assist with the migration from legacy TDM systems to modern VoIP/SIP technologies. The ideal Telephony Engineer - Secret Clearance will need to work on site in Norfolk, VA 5 days per week.
Responsibilities for the Telephony Engineer - Secret Clearance:
Support and maintain telephony infrastructure, including both legacy TDM and IP based VoIP/SIP systems.
Assist in the migration of TDM equipment to modern VoIP/SIP platforms.
Participate in lab-based training and deployment activities to ensure readiness for customer-facing work.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions and system integrations.
Qualifications for the Network Engineer - Telephony:
5+ years of experience working as a Network or Telephony Engineer supporting enterprise-level telephony systems.
Must be eligible to work in the United States and have an active Secret Clearance.
Strong understanding of legacy TDM telephony and VoIP/SIP protocols.
Hands‑on experience with telephony infrastructure migrations and troubleshooting.
DoD 8140 compliant certification and CompTIA Security+ required.
Compensation/Benefits for the Telephony Engineer - Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $95,000 – $115,000 annually
Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave (if required by law), and Holidays.
