Senior Field Service Engineers or Senior Electrical Services Specialists
are responsible for the instrumentation and control (I&C) on our power distribution equipment at our Hyper-Scale Data Center sites. Scope includes setting communication devices and topology industrial networks, uploading HMI/PLC programs, installing I/O and CPUs, integrating 3rd‑party EPMS, initial testing, operation, troubleshooting and modification of customer equipment and systems including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relays.
Key Responsibilities
Create test scripts and MOP (Methods of Procedures) related to Data Center commissioning activities.
Set communication devices and topology industrial networks; upload HMI/PLC programs; install I/O and CPUs.
Integrate 3rd‑party EPMS; conduct initial testing, operation, troubleshooting and modification of customer equipment and systems.
Test MV or LV circuit breakers, metal‑clad/vacuum switchgear, breakers or LV equipment and analyze test results.
Conduct equipment condition assessments and electrical control circuit troubleshooting & repair.
Provide on‑site assistance with programming, start‑up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes; participate in job site final walk‑throughs, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training.
Act as a technical resource to customers and field employees, providing expert advice and support.
Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections; train customers to maintain and adjust complex equipment.
Maintain complex tools, test equipment, and calibration items.
Be available to respond to emergency and relief assignments.
For Field Service Engineers only: plan and estimate labor categories, rates, material costs and transportation expenses; review complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics; perform site lead activities during construction schedules.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits and obtaining thermography certification.
5+ years of experience installing and/or maintaining power automation switchboards.
5+ years of experience using electrical test sets for AC and DC high‑potential testing, transformer test practices and procedures.
Demonstrated skill in interpreting protective coordination studies, testing and configuring protective relays.
Ability to read bills of materials, electrical blueprints, and power system study reports.
Experience commissioning and maintaining low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
Familiarity with arc flash and shock hazards of 13.8 kV and equipment such as Siemens GIS, AIS, WL, RL, SB breakers and switchgear.
Familiarity with ANSI, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA codes and standards.
Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 lbs unassisted.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree – preferably EE/ME.
AVO, NETA, and NICET certifications.
