Performs complex and intricate laboratory experiments while following research techniques and procedures. Develops procedures and protocols in collaboration with leadership. Prepares research reports or analyses for projects. Maintains safety records and ensures safety/compliance procedures and protocols are followed. Provides guidance and support to junior-level staff in laboratory operations. May develop, prepare, and coordinate grant applications and grant-related activities to obtain funding for research projects and related work.

Working Conditions / Demands

The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
