Job Description Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance and accounting functions, with a focus on healthcare financial accounting and operations, preferably within a medical laboratory or broader healthcare setting. Experience with grant accounting and familiarity with federal funding requirements (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance) is highly desirable. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and enhancing the efficiency of financial operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong knowledge of GAAP and an understanding of healthcare-specific financial processes, including payer reimbursement workflows. As part of a dynamic, high-growth organization, the Senior Accountant will support various ad hoc projects and initiatives as the company scales. Job Responsibilities : Healthcare Revenue Accounting & Reporting : Ensure accuracy of general ledger entries related to healthcare transactions such as billing revenue recognition and payments. Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management to develop, maintain, and record A/R reserve analyses, along with other revenue and collections reports. Month-End and Year-End Close : Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Assist in preparing the monthly financial reporting package. Maintain audit-ready workpapers and support the external audit process, liaising with auditors. Financial Analysis and Reporting : Analyze financial variances and trends across projects and departments. Generate ad hoc reports for management to support strategic decisions. Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting. Process Improvement & Internal Controls : Identify and implement improvements to accounting policies, procedures, and workflows. Ensure compliance with internal controls and contribute to risk mitigation initiatives. Knowledge, Skills & Experience : 5-7 years of progressive accounting or audit experience, preferably in healthcare, hospital, or medical laboratory settings. Grant accounting experience is a plus. Deep understanding of GAAP and healthcare revenue cycle operations. Proficiency in accounting platforms like Xero, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, etc. Experience with system migrations or implementations is advantageous. Background in healthcare or medical diagnostics industry preferred. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite. Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Education, Certifications & Licensures : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Other : Combination of seated and standing work. Located at CND's headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ, with flexibility for remote work 1-2 days per week.
