Vehicle Feature Validation Engineer
Each engineer will lead validation efforts by performing gap analyses, developing and executing test cases, and supporting vehicle preparation and issue resolution. The position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure robust feature validation and timely program milestones.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Track and manage electrical module software for Body, Chassis, and Electrical domains.
Collaborate with development and test teams to assess testing needs and review project requirements for testability.
Generate gap analysis reports to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements in test coverage.
Provide time estimates for testing‑related tasks and deliverables.
Manage detailed test plans in TestRail to ensure traceability and alignment with program milestones.
Establish vehicle baselines and perform software updates per test requirements.
Evaluate Feature Design Verification Methods (DVMs) and develop corresponding detailed test cases.
Create new test cases based on data analysis and system‑specific requirements.
Design and implement targeted test cases for evolving functional and non‑functional needs.
Drive successful execution of validation activities to support final product signoffs.
Collaborate with FSEs, D&R engineers, and Program teams to complete required testing activities.
Execute scheduled in‑vehicle test runs aligned with FSO deadlines across various programs, model years, and variants.
Document results and issues using Ford internal systems such as TestRail, Jira, and Confluence Wiki.
Communicate task progress and status proactively to designated leaders.
Report test outcomes, defects, and blockers in a timely manner; create Jira tickets to support visibility and decision‑making.
Deliver Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) for each release within the configuration management system.
Perform vehicle configurations and software updates to support testing.
Remove, install, and configure vehicle components (trims, modules, wiring, electronics) with precision.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
2‑3 years (Junior), 3+ Years (Intermediate), 5+ Years (Senior) of experience in automotive feature validation or system testing.
Proficiency in TestRail, Jira, and Confluence.
Strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and software update processes.
Hands‑on experience with vehicle testing tools and data analysis.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple priorities.
