Responsible for setting up experimental systems to study type VI
CRISPR -Cas defense mechanisms and analyzing collateral

RNA -sequencing. Key Duties
Conduct research on
RNA -targeting type VI
CRISPR -Cas systems (60%). Analyze research data and prepare manuscripts for publication (15%). Mentor and train undergraduate students in the lab (15%). Prepare proposals for postdoctoral fellowships (5%). Present research findings at conferences (5%). Decision-Making Level
The postdoc will design and optimize experiments, particularly for Next Generation Sequencing workflows, exercising independent judgment in data analysis, troubleshooting, protocol adjustments, and ensuring high-quality data for publication. Scope & Impact
This position involves complex experimental research on
RNA -targeting
CRISPR -Cas systems, requiring technical expertise and independent problem-solving. The scope includes project-specific work, collaboration, mentoring, and contributions to publications, conferences, and grant proposals. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
PhD in Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related field by start date. Experience in microbial genetics, molecular cloning, protein expression,
DNA
and
RNA
analysis, and protein-nucleic acid interactions. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in Next Generation Sequencing, library preparation, and Illumina sequencing is highly preferred. Location & Application Details
