Responsibilities
Providing legal advice and guidance on matters related to healthcare law, medical compliance, and regulatory law.
Representing clients in Medicare and Medicaid audits, reimbursement audits, and medical audit defense.
Conducting thorough and detailed investigations to provide robust audit defense.
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents and agreements.
Representing clients in civil litigation and malpractice defense.
Ensuring all operations comply with state and federal laws.
Developing strategies to manage risk and legal issues.
Offering proactive legal advice to prevent legal issues and ensure compliance.
Litigating and advocating for clients in administrative law matters.
Keeping abreast of legislative changes that may affect the healthcare industry and our clients.
Qualifications
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Must be a member in good standing of the Michigan Bar.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare law, medical compliance, audit defense, reimbursement audits, Medicare and Medicaid audits, healthcare compliance, medical audit defense, litigation, administrative law, malpractice defense, regulatory law, and civil litigation.
Proven experience in representing clients in both state and federal courts.
Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of successful legal outcomes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical ability and problem‑solving skills.
High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in legal research and providing clear, concise, and practical legal advice.
