About This Position Emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention as they assist patients and families to move rapidly, uneventfully, safely, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care. Delegates, oversees and provides quality, safe and developmentally appropriate patient care.
Schedule Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p, 40 hrs./week
Essential Functions
Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
Assess individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance.
Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes.
Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
Education Requirement
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
Licensure Requirement Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required.
Experience Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally: Biohazard waste; climb stairs/ladder; color vision; driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required; electricity; fumes/gases/vapors; lifting/carrying: 41-60 lbs; loud noises; machinery; power tools; pushing/pulling: 100 lbs or greater with assistance; pushing/pulling: 61-100 lbs; seeing – far/near
Frequently: Bend/twist; blood and/or bodily fluids; chemicals/medications; communicable diseases and/or pathogens; depth perception; flexing/extending of neck; hand use: grasping, gripping, turning; patient equipment; peripheral vision; pushing/pulling: 0-25 lbs; pushing/pulling: 26-40 lbs; pushing/pulling: 41-60 lbs; reaching above shoulder; sitting; squat/kneel
Continuously: audible speech; computer skills; decision making; hearing acuity; interpreting data; lifting/carrying: 0-10 lbs; lifting/carrying: 11-20 lbs; lifting/carrying: 21-40 lbs; problem solving; repetitive hand/arm use; standing; walking
