A well-established general contractor based in Dallas is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join their team. This individual will play a key role in leading the estimating and preconstruction efforts for a range of commercial/institutional and multifamily projects across North Texas.
About the Role: The Preconstruction Manager will oversee all aspects of the preconstruction phase, including conceptual budgeting, detailed estimating, bid management, and design collaboration. This role works closely with project teams, clients, and design partners to ensure accurate cost projections, value‑driven solutions, and a seamless transition to construction.
Responsibilities:
Lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for multiple projects simultaneously
Prepare conceptual and detailed estimates for commercial (institutional) and multifamily (wood‑frame) projects
Collaborate with owners, architects, and engineers to develop project scope and budgets
Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals for completeness and accuracy
Provide cost analysis, value engineering, and constructability input during design phases
Manage preconstruction schedules, documentation, and client communications
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in estimating or preconstruction
Strong background in commercial (institutional) and multifamily (wood‑frame) projects
Proficiency with industry‑standard estimating software and takeoff tools
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
