Powertrain Diagnostic Engineer

We are looking for a

Powertrain

Diagnostic Engineer

to support the identification, analysis, and resolution of system-level powertrain issues across

combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicle platforms . The role is centered on

diagnostic evaluation ,

log analysis , and close cooperation with engineering teams to drive effective root cause resolution throughout development and validation stages.

Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth diagnostic investigations to determine root causes of powertrain anomalies.

Review and interpret CAN logs, UDS data, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and test reports to pinpoint faults.

Carry out testing activities at both vehicle and bench level using ETAS INCA and other diagnostic tools.

Interface with calibration, controls, and validation teams to develop and verify resolution strategies.

Track and document issues, contributing to structured problem‑solving processes (8D, DFSS, A3).

Validate fixes and monitor system performance after implementation.

Requirements:

Hands‑on experience with ETAS INCA for logging, measurement, and analysis.

Proficiency with CAN / LIN protocols and understanding of UDS, DTC, and DID data.

Ability to analyze system behavior against expected functional outputs.

Familiarity with engineering quality tools such as DFSS, A3, and 8D methodologies.

Background knowledge in ICE, hybrid, and BEV powertrain systems and their control logic.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).

Minimum 3 years of experience in diagnostics, systems testing, or issue triage within the automotive sector.

Exposure to tools like CANalyzer or Vector CAN tools is advantageous.

Strong analytical approach, attention to detail, and ability to work across cross‑functional teams.
