No Department Details Our pediatric endocrinology department is a collaborative department with multiple disciplines to support patient care including board certified endocrinologists, a pediatrician specializing in diabetes care, diabetes educators, a dietitian, a social worker, and nursing team. Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides service to patients in designated care settings by assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating patients within our pediatric endocrinology clinic. We have a fantastic comprehensive team of board certified pediatric endocrinologists, a pediatrician, diabetes educators, and nurses. Provides service to patients by assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating patients. Obtains a thorough medical history from patient and, depending on patient population and setting, will perform an examination and/or assessment to determine patient needs. With other healthcare professionals, analyzes and interprets information collected from patient, medical records, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop and establish an appropriate diagnosis. Works in collaboration with providers and independently to provide care. Formulates a plan for treatment of the patient and prescribes medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized if necessary. Maintains complete and detailed records of patients’ health care plans and prognoses in a timely manner. Consults with or refers patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise. Provides patients with information needed to promote health, reduce risk factors, or prevent disease or disability. Counsels patients and family members about self-management on prevention and treatment plans tailored to individual circumstances. Conducts research in the area of specialty and uses findings to provide improvements in patient care and clinical outcomes. Incorporates evidence-based practice guidelines into care. Maintains current knowledge of state legal regulations for advanced practice provider practices, including reimbursement of services. Keeps abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems such as Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private sources, as applicable. Demonstrates extensive advanced knowledge of medical principles, practices and techniques. Qualifications

Completion of a master’s, post-master’s, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Licensing prior to August 1, 1995, master’s degree in nursing is preferred. Schedule: Monday through Friday. No evenings or weekends. No call. Clinic only New Grads will be considered if have pediatric or endocrinology RN experience (for NP) If experienced AP, preferred areas of in pediatrics, diabetes, or endocrinology Will see clinic patients, both new and follow up. Current team consists of 2 board certified pediatric endocrinologists, 1 pediatrician that has additional training in diabetology Department has a strong support team including RN navigators, diabetes educators, social work, behavioral health, and dietitian support. Required FTE: 1.0 preferred but could review other options if would like a lower FTE but would like full time. Additional Information

Demonstrated current competence and provision of care, treatment, or services for an adequate volume of patients in the past twelve months, or completion of master’s/post-master’s degree program in the past twelve months. Experience must correlate to the privileges requested. Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances. Relevant certifications include Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care (CPNP-AC) or (PPCNP-BC) or Family NP - (NP-C) or (FNP-BC). Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or an equivalent nationally recognized body.
