Position Overview As a Telehealth Counselor, you will play a crucial role in the recovery journey of our patients. Pinnacle’s unique approach combines compassionate care with innovative treatment methods to address the diverse needs of individuals seeking help for substance use disorders. Key Responsibilities
Ensure completion of patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other documentation in accordance with applicable federal and state standards.
Provide patients with orientation regarding program objectives, phase system requirements, rules, regulations, sanctions, hours of services, patient rights, and additional information to help patients adjust.
Assure each patient is assessed and placed according to treatment phases in accordance with federal and state standards and agency policies.
Keep all patient files organized and updated for own and agency use.
Counsel patients in crisis situations by identifying resources and coping abilities to help them resolve the crisis.
Counsel patients who have refused to comply with specific program requirements to increase awareness of consequences.
Arrange referrals to other agencies and community resources when appropriate.
Perform treatment plan reviews.
Participate in case conferences and case reviews in accordance with established policies.
Develop knowledge of federal, state, and agency regulations regarding confidentiality, methadone treatment, and substance abuse counseling certification.
Submit all internal and external correspondence to supervisor for review and approval.
Secure necessary documentation from patients to ensure compliance with established policies.
Submit monthly and quarterly statistical reports to supervisor.
Attend team meetings and complete all required training courses timely.
Other duties as assigned.
Pay Range
Certified: $25 per hour to $27 per hour
Licensed: $27 per hour to $30 per hour
Qualifications
Possess a license in line with Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) qualifications, or certification recognized by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
Maintain compliance with continuing education requirements (CEH or CEU) as determined by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs and/or other regulatory agencies.
Preferred
Experience with dependency and/or medication‑assisted treatment.
Prior substance abuse counseling experience.
Education: Associates or better in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services or related field (required); Bachelors or better in Human Services or related field; Master’s or better in Psychology or related field.
Licenses & Certifications: CATC IV, CATC III, CATC II, CATC I, LMFT, LPC, LCSW, SUDCC III-CS, SUDCC III, SUDCC II.
Behaviors: Dedicated, Enthusiastic, Detail‑Oriented, Team Player.
