Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for Head Wrestling Coach at Miller Middle School. This coaching position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of wrestling. We are a member of the San Juan Basin League; the season runs late January 2026 through mid March 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and ability to organize and positively lead athletes and wrestling coaching staff
Fundamental knowledge of wrestling
Experience working with school-aged athletes
CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified
Plan and organize practices
Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills
Provide feedback to help players improve
Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship
Assist head coach in other duties
Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin
