Position Summary The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the technical landscape of the SAP applications and the connectivity of users to the SAP systems. Responsible for all aspects of the SAP environment, including implementing, configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system. Provides technical support and leadership for SAP Basis systems including establishing standards, nonfunctional requirements, and evaluating and directing enhancements. Collaborates with ERP Enterprise Architect and other enterprise/domain architects and engineers on SAP architecture and specifications. Serves as a technical liaison to the SAP hosting and managed services partner(s).

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain the technical aspects of the system configuration across SAP ERP (S/4HANA, Ariba, Hybris, Fiori, MDG, PO/PI, Solution Manager 7.2, HANA 2.0, XS engine)

Oversee hosting and managed services partners for day‑to‑day activity

Install standard and third‑party application add‑ons

Assist with application package hardware requirements

Manage non‑production and production environments (housekeeping, workstation, printing setup)

Promote object migration of development and configuration across the SAP systems landscape

Coordinate and assist the hosting vendor with testing high‑availability and disaster‑recovery efforts

Coordinate application patching and software upgrades with the hosting vendor

Assist with performance tuning and monitoring

Implement and maintain batch jobs

Monitor overall system health and engage vendors as needed

Configure alerts in HANA and monitor HANA & SQL database health

Configure SLT and system replication as needed

Coordinate with teams to set up technical configuration in S/4HANA and MDG

Run maintenance planner to support upgrade and patching as needed

Apply for licenses and download software as needed

Apply SAP notes and corrections as needed

Coordinate with network & information security team to open ports and IPs as needed

Work with vendor for system hardening

Support interface connectivity and collaborate with network and interface teams

Prepare technical standards documents for system builds

Participate in downtime windows and system maintenance with vendor

Perform on‑demand HANA database recovery and support HA & DR tests as needed

Ensure HANA backups are in a consistent state

Configure transport management and charms

Assist with defining and performing internal and external technical infrastructure security audits

Respond to escalated critical technical and performance issues requiring advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills

Create and maintain technical documentation supporting the SAP solution

Perform other duties as assigned

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Hybrid schedule: 4 days in office in Wyoming, MI; 1 day remote

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Five or more years of experience as an SAP Basis administrator supporting multiple ERP implementation projects

Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Hybris, Fiori, MDG, PO/PI, Cloud Platform, Solution Manager, IDM, and GRC

Expertise in HANA and SQL databases

Expertise in Linux for SAP applications

Familiarity with tools such as SWPM, SUM, WILLY

Experience with full‑lifecycle SAP projects, preferably with global organizations

Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills relevant to SAP applications

Excellent written and verbal communication; good organizational and problem‑solving capabilities

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment
