About the Position The Sales Application Engineer is the technical bridge between Helix and our customers. You’ll translate customer needs into clear solutions, helping engineers, buyers, and program managers understand what’s possible, creating accurate quotes and proposals, and ensuring orders move smoothly through production.

This isn’t just quoting parts, it’s about listening carefully, applying engineering know‑how, and building trust with customers who rely on our precision. Your work directly impacts revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and Helix’s reputation in the industries we serve.

Responsibilities

Support OEM accounts while identifying new opportunities in target markets.

Maintain strong relationships: follow up on quotes, track orders, and close business.

Partner with the Director of Sales and Territory Sales Engineers to grow the pipeline.

Technical & Customer Support

Act as the go‑to resource for technical questions, product recommendations, and delivery timelines.

Review customer prints and collaborate with Engineering to confirm manufacturability.

Develop accurate quotes and proposals that balance technical and commercial needs.

Partner with inside sales and customer success to support quoting and order flow.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Connect customers with Engineering, Operations, and Quality.

Support distributor onboarding and training.

Travel ~25% to visit customers, support trade shows, and see applications in the field.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience.

3+ years in technical sales, application engineering, or customer‑facing support in manufacturing.

Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM (Salesforce preferred), and ERP (Epicor or similar).

Familiarity with SolidWorks and CAD files.

Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.

What Success Looks Like

Response Speed: 95% of quote requests answered within 24 hours.

Accuracy: ≥ 98% of quotes generated without rework.

Conversion: At least 50% of quotes converted to orders within pricing guidelines.

Customer Engagement: Quarterly touchpoints with top 20 accounts; maintain ≥ 90% satisfaction.

Collaboration: Active participation in cross‑functional meetings with clear communication of customer needs.

Growth Impact: Contribute to pipeline growth through new customers and markets identified.
