Employees in this function are responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient operations of physical or virtual servers, private cloud, networks (including telecommunications), PCs, and other business‑critical infrastructure components. They oversee the technology infrastructure that supports the business and support internal users in troubleshooting and escalating issues that impact system health. They are also responsible for setting up user systems and operating systems. Key Responsibilities
Manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, mainframes, telecommunications network and virtualization platforms. Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls. Configure and maintain networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS and wireless access points to support seamless communication within trusted corporate and untrusted external networks. Establish and maintain data backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity during system failures or following malicious threats. Monitor usage patterns of enterprise systems to identify potential issues like SLA metrics and proactively resolve them to ensure continued availability and reliability of critical systems. Analyze system capacity and performance trends to anticipate future infrastructure needs and provide recommendations for investment prioritizations. Perform routine network maintenance & system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes and enhancements. Design and implement IaC scripts and automated processes to reduce manual intervention and enhance repeatability and testability of infrastructure modifications. Troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues that are escalated by tech support teams and ensure resolutions are documented in the organization’s knowledge repository. Set up and configure user systems, including installing and configuring operating systems, software applications, and hardware devices. Provide limited on‑call support; automate the creation and testing of Windows Server templates for virtual machines and physical hardware using a CI/CD pipeline; automate the installation and configuration of Windows Server operating system infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, vRA/vRO, Habitat, Chef, Ruby, PowerShell; provide L3 engineering support to operations teams for all aspects of the Windows Server operating system; support cross‑team deployments; provide technical direction for the Windows Server platform; review and evaluate monthly Windows security updates; engineer deployment processes for high and critically rated security updates. Skills Required
Microsoft Windows, Ansible, Agile Software Development, VMware, PowerShell, Troubleshooting (Problem Solving), Technical Analysis Experience Required
7–10 years experience. Deep technical knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012 R2/2016/2019). Deep technical knowledge of Windows PowerShell. Technical knowledge of Windows Internet Information Services (IIS). Technical knowledge of Windows clustering. 5+ years of demonstrated ability with Microsoft Windows Server OS and related technologies. 5+ years of experience with Windows Server operating system for virtual machines and physical hardware. Experience with VMware and HPE server technologies. Experience with scripting and programming languages focused on PowerShell (PowerShell, Batch, Ruby, Groovy, etc.). Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree Education Preferred
