Equipment Repair Technician 1 or 2 (H/F) - SAFRAN VENTILATION SYSTEMS USA, LLC Mission description The Equipment Repair Technician, under close supervision, performs electronic, electromechanical or mechanical repairs by disassembly, cleaning, troubleshooting, overhaul, repair and assembly of aircraft components, assemblies and accessories in a repair station environment to ensure units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements. Prepare quotes for chargeable repairs and obtain customer approval for charges. Comply with Safran procedures and FAA regulations. Responsibilities Disassemble, clean, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair and assemble aircraft components, assemblies and accessories in a repair station environment. Identify data from units and paperwork using ERP systems to place repair units into work and track progress. Troubleshoot and repair to determine exact causes of failures and rectify them. Prepare tear down notes and complete required documentation; sign appropriate documents. Interpret blueprints, production/assembly instructions, parts lists, diagrams, and engineering orders; assemble, wire and install subassemblies and assemblies. Prepare and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, diagrams, system schematics and related documents from customers and the company. Use hand tools and equipment (soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers) and operate balancing and grinding machines as needed; use cleaning materials for disassembly and inspection. Measure parts with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, scales) to verify tolerances. Inspect, test and adjust completed units to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements. Requisition parts and materials via ERP system; receive and inspect incoming materials for accuracy. Work within company policies, quality management systems and FAA regulations. Qualifications (Level 1 and Level 2) Level 1: Education: High School diploma or equivalent Experience: 1-3 years Computer Skills: Familiar with Microsoft Office products Other Skills: Mechanical skills with basic electronics; ability to read technical publications, drawings and schematics; strong attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress; aerospace experience preferred; ability to manage multiple repairs with attention to detail; strong verbal and written English communication; basic computer and internet usage. Level 2: Education: High School diploma Experience: 3-5 years Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office products Other Skills: Thorough electro-mechanical assembly and troubleshooting; ability to read technical publications, drawings and schematics; strong attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress; clear English communication; crimping and soldering skills; ability to handle multiple repairs; qualified on multiple product families (4-6); demonstrated ability to achieve quality results. Physical requirements Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and physical durability. Near vision, color distinction, arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity. Normal manufacturing working conditions; use of safety equipment (safety glasses, wrist straps, hearing protection, shop coats). Able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs. Ability to sit or stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions. Ability to follow safety procedures when working with toxic or caustic chemicals.
