Job Description Microchip is currently seeking an Applications Engineer to join our high reliability product team. The AE will provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, customer support, installation and maintenance of company products, and product verification activities. Responsibilities include building application models, rapid prototyping, documenting and publishing application notes, interfacing with software and firmware development teams, and providing product capability assessment and validation.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum BSEE; or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a semiconductor engineering environment with analog mixed‑circuit design or application engineering in analog mixed‑signal components and power management.

Prior experience in a customer‑facing role dealing directly with customers and/or field sales personnel.

Knowledge and experience in debugging electrical systems at component, board, and system level.

Hands‑on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multi‑meter, etc.).

Prior experience and skill performing simulation, PCB layout, and schematic capture (knowledge of ORCAD, Altium Designer, Cadence or equivalent software); recognition of schematics and layout.

Knowledge and understanding of MIL‑PRF specifications, DLA Classifications and Qualified Manufacturers Listings a plus.

Familiarity with radiation testing and customer radiation tolerance requirements a plus.

Ability to troubleshoot and analyze IC and system integration issues and prescribe and implement timely solutions.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
