Complex Bridge Engineer
at Jacobs. Bring advanced bridge design expertise to projects across the United States and abroad, working on complex bridge and transportation structure design projects including segmental post‑tensioned, steel‑box girders, cable‑stayed, arches and trusses. Location: Chicago, IL or Mendota Heights, MN.
Base Pay Range $115,000.00/yr – $160,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
Coordinate design activities and meetings between Jacobs staff and subcontractors.
Perform quality reviews, prepare budgets and schedules for bridge design tasks.
Help train, direct and mentor junior engineers and CAD staff.
Grow our portfolio of projects within the region.
Provide technical guidance on design‑build and design‑bid‑build projects across the U.S. and overseas.
Qualifications
Master of Science in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) in IL and/or MN.
Minimum of 10 years bridge design experience, including steel girder, prestressed concrete, and earth retaining structure design.
Previous complex bridge experience.
Experience with Chicago DOT, CTA and/or IDOT (MnDOT experience is a plus).
Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code.
Proficiency in Midas, Leap Bridge Concrete, and similar analysis and design software.
Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and direct the work of others.
Project or task management experience.
Excellent client‑service focus.
Experience supporting proposal development.
Preferred Qualifications
Design‑Build project experience.
Project management experience.
Business development experience.
Experience leading proposal development.
Mentorship experience.
