As a vital member within our
Northwest Bridge Team , you’ll have the opportunity to work on complex bridge projects throughout the Northwest, and nationwide. Our transportation projects include traditional design-bid-build projects as well as alternative delivery such as Design-Build (DB), Progress Design-Build (PDB), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR), and Public-Private-Partnership (P3) projects. Senior Bridge Engineer , you will lead bridge projects of various size and complexity with a particular focus on
segmental, cable-stayed and complex bridges . With the support of Jacobs, you’ll have the option to grow further in your career and contribute to the engineering community through participation in regional and/or national professional and technical organizations.
This position can be done from almost any of our Western US offices including Bellevue, WA, Seattle, WA, Boise, ID, Portland, OR, Denver, CO, Irvine, CA, Sacramento, CA and more.
Base pay range $162,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr
Responsibilities Lead complex bridge projects and deliver solutions focusing on safety, quality, schedule, and budget. Mentor junior staff, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and represent Jacobs in client engagements. Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure successful delivery across traditional design-bid-build and alternative delivery methods.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
PE registration Washington or the possibility of obtaining Washington PE registration within one year
At least 15 years’ bridge engineering experience including substantial complex bridge design and construction
Experience on large, multidisciplinary bridge design projects
Experience with various structure types including precast concrete girders, segmental bridges, and other complex bridges
Project management and leadership experience
Strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of technical standards for bridge design, construction, and maintenance including AASHTO LRFD and state-specific guidelines
Familiarity with FHWA requirements and guidelines
Ability and willingness to travel on occasion
Ideal qualifications
Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Existing relationships with WSDOT, Sound Transit, and/or other relevant agencies
Multi-faceted experience including public sector project experience
At least 20 years’ bridge and structural engineering experience including substantial segmental and complex bridge design and construction as well as leadership of design teams
Alternative delivery project experience including Design-Build (DB), Progress Design-Build (PDB), and Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) projects
Knowledge of WSDOT Standard Specifications and Bridge Design Manual
Salary and benefits The base salary range for this position is $162,000.00 to $300,000.00. Jacobs offers comprehensive health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, life insurance, and the opportunity to purchase company stock. Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan. Jacobs provides a hybrid work policy enabling a mix of office and remote work.
