Job Description
The University of South Florida, a preeminent research university and AAU member with campuses across the Tampa Bay region, seeks to fill a nine‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure‑earning Assistant Professor of Instruction in Communication with a specialization in group communication or related courses in the Department of Communication. A Ph.D. in Communication is required; ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is conferred by August 7, 2026.
Salary: $55,000. Teaching load: 4 courses per semester.
Responsibilities
Teach face‑to‑face and online group communication courses.
Coordinate the general‑education group communication course.
Engage in curricular development and assessment.
Support undergraduate curriculum and professional communication courses.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Communication from an accredited institution.
Record of teaching group communication or related courses.
Meet university criteria for appointment to rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching business and professional communication courses.
Experience with curriculum development and/or assessment.
Experience coordinating or assisting with multi‑section courses.
Experience with online teaching.
