Assistant Professor – Management Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The department is relaunching a Supply-Chain Management (SCM) Track within its management degree and currently offers a Hospitality Management Track in collaboration with the Jay Kemmerer WORTH Institute. We seek applicants with professional backgrounds in SCM or operations management who can contribute to the Hospitality Management Track. Teaching : Demonstrate a passion for innovative, experiential teaching to support the department’s teaching reputation. Standard teaching load for research-active faculty is four courses per year, typically two in fall and two in spring. Ability to teach in person, online, and hybrid formats to diverse student populations is required. Research : Conduct high-quality, peer-reviewed research leading to publications in leading journals. The department provides competitive funding; the college offers summer funding and research grants. Service : Serve as a faculty lead for the Hospitality Management and SCM Tracks of the Management Major. Engage in service activities aligned with college strategic initiatives and student organizations. By Fall 2026, a Ph.D. in management (SCM or Operations) or closely related field and a professional record relevant to service industry or hospitality management. ABD candidates must have completed their dissertation by August 2025. Demonstrated potential for innovative teaching, a strong research program, and program development. Ability to teach in traditional, online, and hybrid formats to diverse student populations. Demonstrated collegiality. Desired Qualifications
Record of high-quality publications in recognized journals, ongoing high-quality research potential, excellent teaching with experiential methods, strong service and student advising ability, and two or more years of professional work experience in service or hospitality industries.
