Position Description:

The University of Louisville Student Affairs Division is seeking to hire a Manager, Communications and Marketing. The Manager is responsible for shaping and amplifying the Division’s voice through integrated marketing strategies, dynamic storytelling, and creative engagement across multiple platforms. This position will enhance the visibility of Student Affairs programs and services, strengthen the student experience, and ensure alignment with the University’s mission, values, and strategic goals through clear, consistent, and compelling messaging.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Marketing Leadership

Develops and implements comprehensive, multi‑channel marketing and communications plans

Collaborates with Division leadership to establish annual marketing and outreach goals

Partnering with Division department heads, leads the planning, execution, and analysis of integrated marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes

Supervise and directs divisional marketing professionals to align strategies, share resources, and maximize reach and messaging consistency across all channels

Campaign & Content Development

Designs and executes highly targeted marketing campaigns focused on increasing student engagement, belonging, wellness, success, and retention

Constructs campaigns leveraging email, social media, events, print materials, and presentations

Writes, edits, and curates content for websites, newsletters, press releases, social media, and promotional materials including the development of video content

Supports fundraising, advancement, and donor relations through strategic storytelling

Digital Strategy & Analytics

Leads the Division’s digital and social media strategy, including analytics‑based performance tracking

Manages Division website content, aligning branding and engagement goals

Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate campaign effectiveness

Branding & Engagement

Ensures brand consistency across Student Affairs initiatives, events, and platforms

Collaborates with campus offices and external partners to produce publications, marketing collateral, and event promotions

Serves as primary liaison for Student Affairs and the University’s central marketing and communications team

Leadership & Collaboration

Supervises, mentors, and supports professional staff and student employees

Provides training and consultation on marketing best practices across the Division

Fosters collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to maximize impact of marketing efforts

Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience developing and executing strategic, multi‑channel marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for varied audiences

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders

High level of professionalism, strong work ethic, and ability to balance independent work with team tasks and projects

Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Proficiency using marketing platforms and tools; experience with TM1, Eloqua, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and social media management tools preferred

Knowledge of higher education branding and marketing strategies

Experience in social media management including paid campaigns, analytics, and emerging trends

Proficiency using content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal)

Demonstrated ability to create engaging multimedia content (video, audio, digital storytelling)

Experience supervising professional and student staff

Work Hours and Location This is a full‑time, exempt position with a 37.5‑hour regular workweek. Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, staffing, and/or scheduling. The primary work location for this position is at the Belknap Campus. Flexible hours and hybrid work may be considered with job responsibilities and business needs in mind. Occasional overnight travel (professional development, industry conferences) may be required.
