We are searching for an experienced Plant Superintendent at our Plant 12-Fremont-IN facility.

Dexter is the premier manufacturer and supplier of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy‑duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets. We have an opportunity for a Plant Superintendent at our manufacturing facility located in Fremont, Indiana.

Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, Dexter has manufacturing and distribution locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Production Superintendent will provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing facility, oversee plant production, equipment and tools to ensure efficiency, maintain projects on schedule, and manage financial performance.

Responsibilities

Supervise, mentor, and direct Production Supervisors.

Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs and ensure a safe working environment.

Support the development and deployment of the Dexter Operating System (DOS).

Support systems to report Key Process Indicators (KPI’s), conduct standard meetings, and drive identification of abnormalities, discover root causes, and solve problems to prevent recurrence.

Manage production schedules to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.

Maintain labor performance objectives.

Ensure quality procedures are followed and achieve 100% on‑time delivery.

Perform other tasks, duties, or special projects as directed.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise production supervisors for two‑shift operations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, appraising, and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a comparable discipline is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Lean and continuous improvement experience is required.

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a similar manufacturing site.

Experience in all phases of manufacturing operations and production scheduling, including maintaining and controlling direct and indirect labor budgets.

Must be a team player, goal‑oriented, and self‑motivated.

Computer skills are a must.
