Responsibilities
Lead basic to complex installation, checkout, and commissioning of electric and electronic components for systems and service jobs. Tasks include maintenance and testing of switchgear, switchboard, motor controls, circuit breakers, panel boards, transformers, and surge protection devices.
Perform vibration analysis, metering, battery maintenance, power monitoring, and protective relay upkeep.
Install wiring, connect to power sources, and troubleshoot emergencies for high and low voltage power distribution products.
Execute complex service upgrades, reconditioning, retrofits, and other enhancements for low‑voltage power distribution systems.
Provide onsite technical and operational support in design, development, installation, and maintenance of complex equipment and systems.
Conduct site surveys to develop base installation design plans.
Offer instructions and training to customers for proper operation and routine inspections of complex equipment.
Maintain complex tools, test equipment, and calibration items.
Plan and estimate labor, material costs, and transportation expenses for complex proposals.
Respond to emergency and relief assignments as required.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or state‑recognized GED.
3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits; thermography certification available.
3 years of experience with electrical testing, including current injection, resistance, dielectric, and thermal scans on medium and low‑voltage systems.
3 years of experience using electrical test sets for AC/DC high potential testing, transformer turns ratio and power factor testing.
On‑the‑job or educational experience in:
Interpreting protective coordination studies and configuring protective relays.
Reading bills of material, electrical blueprints, and power system study reports.
Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
Arc flash and shock hazards of 13.8 kV equipment: Siemens GIS, AIS, WL, RL, and SB breakers and switchgear.
ANSI, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA codes and standards.
Capable of carrying/moving equipment up to 75 pounds unassisted.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license with limited violations.
Legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree.
AVO, NETA, and NICET certifications.
5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits; thermography certification available.
5 years of experience with electrical testing and system testing as outlined above.
5 years of experience using electrical test sets for high potential and transformer testing.
