Information Technology Specialist II
Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 4, the Information Technology Specialist 2 incumbent will support 50+ NYS Executive Agency legal departments with our legal document review product offering.
Base pay range $66,951.00/yr - $85,138.00/yr
Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day operations of legal document review product offering
Coordinate and execute initial onboarding training sessions for new users of the legal document review system
Assist with creation of internal standard operating procedure documentation, as well as instructional documentation for customers of the legal document review product offering
Maintain knowledge of current features and upcoming product updates, assist with testing new features / functionality within the legal document review software
Triage first-level technical support calls relating to our legal document review product offering. Escalate any known issues / problems unable to be resolved to appropriate manager.
Submit and triage support incidents with legal document review software vendor
Collaborate with other team members on projects within the unit
Stay up-to-date with any training / certifications offered by the software vendor
Assist with research on agency software and hardware needs
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Open Competitive: A bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science.
OR A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology.
OR 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology.
OR Two years of professional experience in information technology.
Promotion
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1, Salary Grade (SG) 14.
Transfer
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 or Information Technology Specialist 2 Programming, G-18 or in a title G-16 or above deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
55b/c Appointment
This position is eligible for 55b/c designation and candidates are encouraged to apply.
Additional Comments
Appointment to this position and continued employment with the agency is contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining New York State residency within six months of hiring.
Appointment to this position is not final until all agency approvals have been granted.
ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. It is the policy of ITS not to hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or to sponsor non-immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or for permanent residence.
Some positions may require fingerprinting.
Some positions may require up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid‑Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
