Responsibilities
Lead and oversee comprehensive inspection, advanced testing, and troubleshooting of sprinkler and preaction systems.
Perform inspections and testing of fire alarm, hazard systems, kitchen hoods, and preaction systems.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in sprinkler systems to ensure performance.
Maintain detailed records of service activities, reports, analyses, and recommendations.
Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and training.
Participate in project planning, system design, and implementation.
Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to optimize system performance.
Stay informed about industry trends, technology, and regulations.
Ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction in all activities.
Conduct site surveys for sprinkler upgrades and code compliance, develop materials, labor estimates, and schedules.
Create redline as-built drawings.
Lead various sized sprinkler projects.
Perform five-year internal sprinkler inspections and testing.
Troubleshoot complex fire suppression issues.
Perform pre-testing and final acceptance testing with Fire Marshal.
Develop relationships with building owners and managers.
Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
Maintain truck inventory.
Respond to after-hours service calls as scheduled.
Maintain industry certifications and grow technical skills.
Conduct sprinkler system surveys for condition, compliance, and performance improvements.
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
Research materials and installation procedures using manuals and online resources.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma (required)
8 years relevant experience or 2-year technical degree with 6 years relevant experience
Certifications:
NICET II in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems or
Pass NICET II exam within 90 days of employment
State Backflow Certification or obtain within 90 days
Fire Pump Test Certification or obtain within 90 days
Requirements:
Ability to obtain US Secret clearance
Attention to detail and professional work ethic

Knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 13, NEC, OSHA standards
Ability to work under stress
