How you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Airgas is hiring for an Outside Sales Account Manager in the Williamsport/State College PA Territory.

The Outside Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing the sales process and driving profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory to both existing and new Airgas customers. The role requires meeting and exceeding corporate and regional objectives for profitable sales growth, A/R management, and customer retention. The successful candidate will cultivate relationships, provide solutions, and leverage technology to enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute sales plans utilizing Airgas sales directives and guidelines to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts. Qualify and pursue sales leads.

Cultivate customer relationships by developing deep knowledge of the customer's business and establishing consultative relationships.

Engage customers by linking the customer's business priorities to the Airgas value proposition.

Prepare sales proposals by quoting pricing, establishing credit terms, and estimating delivery dates based on knowledge of Airgas production/delivery schedules and logistics.

Stay current with industry insights, Airgas product mixes, competition, pricing, products, new offerings, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.

Partner with internal resources to achieve growth objectives and maintain clear communication with internal departments regarding customer successes, opportunities, and development.

Maintain and submit sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly/annual territory analyses) as required by District Manager through SAP.

Actively review and manage existing customer accounts receivable balances to minimize Airgas working capital investment and financial risk.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Proven success using a consultative sales approach to provide multiple layers of value and establish mix sales solutions and products.

Deep knowledge of customer businesses, macro/microeconomic trends, industry trends, and potential new business opportunities.

Excellent organizational, written, oral, and presentation skills utilizing current technology.

Self‑starter, self‑motivated, operates with a sense of urgency, and capable of working independently.

Reliable transportation, current driver's license, and minimum liability insurance as required by state vehicle registration.

Minimum of 3 years of outside B2B sales experience, including solution‑selling concepts and a history of managing customers throughout a defined sales territory.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, industrial gas/welding supply sales.
