Tax or Audit Staff Associate

About the Role We are looking for a candidate who is enrolled in, or has graduated from, a qualified accounting program and who has current authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
Responsibilities
Internalize and adhere to DeJoy's policies and procedures
Learn and apply DeJoy's documentation and referencing standards
Develop a working knowledge of DeJoy's technology, including Microsoft Suite, CCH Engagement/Checkpoint, ProSystems/Intelliconnect, Star Practice Management, Trello boards for scheduling, SnapEval, and Continuous Performance Management Software
Learn and apply, under close supervision, applications for preparing audit procedures or tax compliance matters
Keep team members well‑informed
Manage daily time reporting requirements, project budgets, and annual chargeable‑hour goals
Demonstrate confident communication skills and serve as a junior ambassador of the firm by participating in community and academic events
Strengthen and leverage relationships with DeJoy members, clients, community associations, and alumni networks
Obtain annual continuing education requirements sponsored by the firm
Take steps toward passing the CPA exam in the near term
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Consistent access to a reliable vehicle for traveling to DeJoy's office and to client locations, plus a valid driving license and New York State insurance limits
Moderate overtime of roughly 200 to 300 hours throughout the year (generally from January to April, but also at other times as needed)

Pay Range And Compensation Package Salary: $63,000 per year. Total Rewards include an excellent compensation and benefits package, bonus opportunities, customized first‑year training, sponsorships for CPA and CVA certifications, continuing education and professional development programs.
