Margaret Sullivan Studio
is seeking a diligent, passionate individual who will assist in project design and project management to join our dynamic studio. The ideal candidate has education and experience in interior design, and facilities planning. Qualities we’re looking for include having an entrepreneurial spirit and someone who is a proactive and a critical thinker with a user-centered, human-centered approach who focuses their work through the lenses of community, placemaking, social justice and design thinking. Responsibilities
In this role you will work closely with our team and play an integral role in the studio\'s operation, project management, and support our studio\'s creative and innovative environment, providing guidance and leadership to junior designers and interns. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who aspires to advance the communities our client’s serve! Travel may be required as we currently have clients across the United States including California, Missouri, Ohio, and Connecticut. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or interior design, or related fields A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience, including documentation and familiarity with all phases of the design process Strong project management, client relations, consultant coordination, construction documentation and construction process, administrative skills Strong design documentation skills in both design presentations and Bid Documents including Construction Drawings and Specifications, for Interior Design Strong design and coordination skills with vendors and clients for Furniture Fixtures and Equipment, including specifications Strong skills in critical thinking, design thinking, and user-centered approach to design Excellent “people skills.” You will be co-facilitating a series of staff and community engagement workshops in the Studio’s upcoming master facility planning, design project work and feasibility studies among other client-facing tasks Proficient in CAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Office, Google Suites, and Adobe Creative Suites with a talent for distilling and communicating complex ideas in a clear and powerful manner Strong communication, writing and graphic design skills Work closely with the Principal to manage internal project schedules and deliverables on a day-to-day basis Work in direct contact with clients and Architects to coordinate project deliverables, schedule and meetings to assist in managing internal staff to meet these deadlines Collaborate with staff for all office projects, both client-driven and internal Extends the MSS brand in execution, role, and modeling in every internal and external interaction Employment type
