Recruiting Manager, Accounting and Finance Segrera Associates is working with a construction/engineering company in the Tampa area.
The Senior Accountant / FP&A Analyst will play a dual role in managing day-to-day accounting functions while driving forward-looking financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation who also has a strong analytical mindset and enjoys working across departments.
Key Responsibilities Accounting (50%)
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
Maintain general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
Manage job costing and project accounting; track project budgets, revenue recognition, and change orders.
Support preparation of financial statements and assist with annual audits.
Ensure accurate and timely posting of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation tracking.
Assist with process improvement and automation initiatives within the accounting function.
FP&A / Financial Analysis (50%)
Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts, cash flow projections, and long-range financial plans.
Develop and maintain financial models for project profitability, labor utilization, and overhead cost analysis.
Analyze actual results vs. budget/forecast and present key insights to leadership.
Partner with project managers to support budget creation, tracking, and financial performance reviews.
Support business cases for new projects, capital investments, and hiring decisions.
Create dashboards, KPIs, and other management reporting tools to monitor business performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and/or FP&A, ideally in construction, engineering, or a project-based industry.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (Netsuite preferred)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
Salary is $85-110k DOE
