Security Systems Technicians Security Systems Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start‑up, and commissioning of state‑of‑the‑art integrated security systems, including CCTV or IP cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. In addition, you will mentor less experienced technicians and foster a culture of growth and knowledge‑sharing within our team. Your expertise and regular interaction with customers will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.
Responsibilities
Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance.
Run routine reports to review system operation.
Participate in final inspection and testing.
Support customer acceptance.
Assist with customer training on system operations.
Complete and submit routine written reports.
Identify code and non‑conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation.
Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination; may support others in scheduling trade contractors to coordinate start‑up services as needed.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large‑scale integrated security systems.
Demonstrated understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management, IP addressing and subnetting, IP video network transmission and factors that impact video rates and quality, as well as basic switch, router, and firewall principles.
Current certification and working experience with Genetec software.
Willing and able to work in a variety of environments around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high‑lift equipment; working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; using hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiating types/colors of wire, carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Legal age of 18 and possession of a valid driver’s license with limited violations.
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
7+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large‑scale integrated security systems.
Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
