Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic and operational plans for the Facilities Management department.
Oversee staffing, training, scheduling, budgeting and resource management.
Establish a safe work environment by performing safety audits, inspections and training.
Manage building operations, maintenance, utility operations, energy management and grounds maintenance.
Lead major infrastructure repair and renovation projects, including vendor selection, bid process and contract compliance.
Act as liaison for remodeling, renovation and construction projects to ensure product standards, design standards and scheduling are met.
Communicate status of work and issues with customers, vendors and partners.
Authorize purchase requests to ensure service agreements are met and maintenance services comply with procedures and budgets.
Maintain external relations with government agencies, The Joint Commission (TJC), insurance carriers and others as needed.
Ensure facilities are maintained, secured, renovated and constructed according to policies and initiatives.
Assist with development of departmental budgets, including capital, operating and construction budgets.
Ensure continued compliance with Federal, State, local regulations and TJC standards.
Collect, compile and audit regulatory compliance documentation.
Request proposals for repairs, maintenance and capital improvements from vendors and Purchasing.
Direct the daily assignment of work to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

Lead and guide team to achieve optimal performance and operational excellence.
Ensure appropriate staffing coverage to support safe and efficient plant operations.
Manage staffing, performance evaluation and training activities, and assist with capacity planning for staff and contract labor.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field preferred.
Five years’ experience in maintenance and operation of a physical plant and/or building maintenance for a large facility required.
Three years’ experience in a large, multi‑campus healthcare system preferred.
Three years’ supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities preferred.
